Dry Eye Specialist

Glacier Eye Clinic out of Kalispell, MT has an opening for a Dry Eye Specialist. The
Dry eye specialist job duties include: Conduct eye exams using ophthalmic/optometric equipment and
providing diagnostic interpretation; Diagnose a variety of ocular and systemic diseases; Provide post-
operative care for surgical ophthalmology patients, including cataract, glaucoma, cornea, and retina
surgeries; Operate independently; Perform in emergency eye care situations and triage patients
accordingly; Diagnose, treat, and manage acute, chronic and refractory dry eye; Fit custom contact
lenses for patients with chronic ocular surface disease including complex soft lenses, RGPs, Sclerals and
Hybrid lenses; Optimize ocular surface for patients with difficult postoperative outcomes. Provide
guidance to patients for follow-up and care options; Work with insurance companies to determine patient
medication coverage and complete letters of medical necessity when needed; Use medical billing codes,
and the coding process for cases. Stay up to date and familiar with advancements in ophthalmic disease
treatment, especially in regards to ocular surface disease. Use general principles of optometry and best
practices for the diagnosis and treatment of eye-related disorders and conditions; Maintain patient
confidentiality and HIPAA compliance; and, Use electronic medical records (EMR). Requirements: Doctor
of Optometry (D.O.) degree from an accredited optometric program, Active Montana optometric license,
Valid CPR certificate, and 6 Months of experience with all job duties.
